Required Skills and Qualification:

  • GED or high school Diploma

  • Bachelor’s Degree- Science or Health major

  • No license or certification required

  • Experience in scientific or medial research setting and interest in sleep science preferred

  • Ability to work as a member of a team

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines

  • Ability to interact in an appropriate and professional manner

  • Demonstrated cooperative behavior and positive-problem solving and conflict resolution skills

  • Available to work dependable, flexible shift 

Description of Duties:

  • Supervise sleep study participants and ensure all protocol time points are followed                                              

  • Interact with study participants to keep them awake and occupied                                                                       

  • Administer tests, study questionnaires, and surveys at precise time points and ensure research participants complete                                                                                                                                                          

them in a timely matter                                                                                                                                     

  • Assist the study coordinator/sleep technician in applying and removing sleep polysomnography equipment           

  • Enter research data in RedCap                                                                                                                          

  • Expect to learn how to analyze data under supervision and produce manuscripts of reports of new research           

  • Will be given learning opportunities in research design and implementation

  • May be assigned to learn how to spin and process saliva samples

  • Learn how to download, review and score Actigraphy data 

  • Other duties as may be assigned (required)

  • Attend and productively participate in staff meetings and trainings as needed

  • Maintain high degree of responsibility for client confidentiality

  • Maintain a pleasant, courteous, tactful attitude with all contacts

  • Work with minimal supervision in exercising initiative in organizing and completing daily tasks

  • Solve minor problems by using judgment based on knowledge of Institute policies and department practices and procedures

  • Meet established productivity and task management standards for assigned duties

  • Overtime is a condition of employment and may be required based on the needs of the Institute

  • Responsible for other tasks as may be required for efficient operation of the department
